Enchanted Makeovers and Kelee Katillac to Partner for
"Re-Design Your Life" Workshops at KC Shelter
TAYLOR, MI — Nationally known interior designer, author, and life coach Kelee Katillac will partner with Michigan-based non-profit Enchanted Makeovers for workshops at Newhouse in Kansas City, Mo. (www.newhouseshelter.org), a shelter dedicated to providing new beginnings to abused women and their children.
Katillac is known for her “Re-Design Your Life” projects that are both healing and empowering. Participants learn DIY projects that help them to “make a home” wherever they find themselves. A “Comfort Cushion” pillow project will provide an emotional outlet and creative activity for the shelter children. “When you are having a hard time, a pillow you have made gives you something to call your own…and an object to hug,” Katillac said.
Enchanted Makeovers announced last week that it was launching a makeover project at Newhouse to coincide with the Society of Decorating Professionals (SDP) 2010 Annual Conference, which will be held in Kansas City March 10 – 12, 2010. When Katillac heard about the project, she was immediately supportive. “I am thrilled to see Enchanted Makeovers and Terry Grahl focus on women’s shelters. And I’m so happy to assist in anyway I can with Design Gives Back,” Katillac said, referring to her own non-profit work, which focuses on using design and creativity help people improve their lives.
Terry Grahl, founder and president of Enchanted Makeovers, is delighted with the partnership. “Kelee is a talented and creative designer who has a passion for helping others,” she said. “I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with her on a project that will have a lasting impact on the women and children at this shelter.”
