Beauty Inside and Out for Michigan’s Brother Sister Duo
Birmingham, MI - A room and a brother sister duo - that’s where the similarities between Donny and Marie and Michigan’s Todd and Terry begin and end, but this doesn’t make Todd and Terry’s performance is any less extraordinary. Both Todd and Terry are stars of two incredible businesses. Both have assembled great supporting casts for the purpose of empowering women to be the best that they can be and on May 27th, Todd and Terry will join forces at Todd’s Room, downtown Birmingham, to raise funds in support of Enchanted Makeovers’ 2009 Vision Project, a project that will transform the surroundings for 20 “at-risk” young women.Just as it was not an accident that Donny and Marie became legendary entertainers, the expectations of Todd Skog and Terry Grahl having hugely successful, giving businesses were forged into their dreams as youngsters. Both brother and sister learned at a young age to believe in their dreams. Their mother taught them that beauty didn't need to be motivated by money and that by relying on your own creativity and vision – each makeover was a selfless act of love. For their mother, making a home where her five children felt safe and where their spirits could soar was as important as keeping them fed and clothed. Today both Todd and Terry extend this wish and dream to everyone through their work and passions.
The brother act of this duo, Todd Skog, owner of Todd’s Room and makeup artist, says, “Nothing makes a woman more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful.” The sister half, Terry Grahl is a “little bit vintage” and President and Founder of Enchanted Makeovers. Terry says, “Every woman is talented, creative and worthy of surroundings that nurture their soul from where their greatness can emerge.” Todd and Terry entertain the dreams of others and by helping others realize their dreams they are realizing their own.
The Vision Project is the third “extreme makeover” for Enchanted Makeovers non-profit organization, benefiting the Vista Maria, which is Michigan's largest private, non-profit residential and community-based treatment agency for high-risk young women and their families. Vista Maria provides education, therapy, shelter and care to young women and their families who are struggling to cope with numerous challenges, including histories of abuse, neglect and other traumas. With this project Enchanted Makeovers is gaining much momentum and national media attention.
